This exposition is the first retrospective in France dedicated to Hans Josephsohn.
The atmosphere of this exposition struck me. The exposition explains that Josephsohn’s goal was to capture the essence of a being, of a moment. I feel as though he’s succeeded. Josephsohn’s sculptures are simple, raw and lifelike. They almost feel alive, as though they are on the verge of whispering you a story. Walking through this exposition felt like walking through a portal into a magical place, a world where time moves differently, where life is slower and quieter.
